Peter "P-Money" Wadams is one of New Zealand’s most renowned Producers and DJ’s. His talents in the studio and on the turntables have made him a household name and a pioneering figure within New Zealand music.
P-Money is a true ambassador of NZ Music. He co-wrote and produced four of the most impactful (and highest selling) New Zealand singles of the 2000’s; “Not Many”, “Stand Up”, & “Dreaming” by Scribe and “Everything ft Vince Harder”. The latter of which broke through to UK airwaves on BBC1 and was dubbed Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record in the World in 2009.
As a teenager Peter poured endless hours into his craft of DJ'ing, a discipline that would land him 3rd Place prize at the legendary DMC World DJ Championship in 2001 (a Bronze Medal in the Olympics of the DJ World). The skills developed during those early years are the foundation for every DJ set he performs.
Peter Wadams and business partner Callum August founded independent record label Dirty Records in 2001 launching the careers of local rap stars Scribe, PNC and David Dallas. The label and it’s artists became synonymous with NZ Hip-Hop and inspired many other artists to follow suit.
P-Money’s scope of production work spans from Hip-Hop and Rap into the world’s of Pop, Dance, R&B and Soul music. Producing a series of Rap albums for the artists on his label and a variety of dance singles with the likes of Dan Aux, MayaVanya and Kaleena Zanders before switching gears to produce the award winning retro soul album “Treble & Reverb” by New Zealand soul sensation Aaradhna.
In 2013 P-Money paired with US indie Hip-Hop label Duck Down Music to release his sixth album “Gratitude”. The album includes features by Talib Kweli, Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, M.O.P., Havoc (of Mobb Deep), Buckshot, Aaradhna, Nicole Wray (Lady), Fashawn, Skyzoo, Jamall Bufford, Pac Div, STS, Blaison Maven, Monsta G and @Peace and in 2014 P-Money released the underground Hip-Hop album 'Backpack Travels' alongside legendary Brooklyn MC and Duck Down Music founder "Buckshot" (of Black Moon).
In 2015 P-Money was enlisted as music supervisor and composer for the motion picture "Born To Dance" starring Stan Walker with choreography by Parris Goebel.
Peter "P-Money" Wadams is producer and co-writer of the worldwide chart hit "Call On Me" by Australian singer/songwriter Starley. "Call On Me" reached #1 in Sweden for 4 weeks and went Top 10 in the UK, Europe and Australia. The single is now certified platinum in 9 countries (USA, U.K., Germany, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Italy, Denmark, New Zealand) and has received over one billion streams worldwide.
